Discover Agia Napa – Protaras

Ayia Napa is found about 10 kilometers south of Paralimni (the largest village in the area) and 10 kilometers south west of the coastal resort of Protaras, 40 kilometers east of Larnaca, 80 kilometers south east of the capital Nicosia, 105 kilometers north east of Limassol, 175 kilometers north east of Paphos, 150 kilometers east of Platres and 210 kilometers south east of Polis and Latchi.

It is one of Cyprus’s most popular beach resorts due to its golden sands and crystal clear waters. Normally the little village has less than 1000 inhabitants, but during summer season it hosts more than 10.000 tourists per day.

In the centre of Ayia Napa you’ll find a spectacular medieval monastery with a beautiful courtyard garden. The legend states that many centuries ago a hunter’s dog chased a hare into a cave and, when the man followed he found a glowing icon of the Virgin Mary. A church was built in the cave in memory of this occasion and still stands today. Beside the church is the main square which has an octagonal fountain and garden area. During the summer time many events are held here such as the Ayia Napa Street Festival which takes place in September and includes entertainment from, local and international dancers, singers and musicians providing unforgettable entertainment for all visitors.

Ayia Napa has some of the best night life in Europe. With a wide choice of clubs and over 80 bars, there truly is something for everyone in Ayia Napa. Whether you’re looking for a crazy party holiday, a fun family break or a grown up, chilled out getaway, Ayia Napa has bars, clubs and entertainment to suit every taste and budget. From the latest EDM, Hip Hop, House and RnB, right through to cheesy tunes, rock music, acoustic performances and tribute acts. The busiest part of Ayia Napa at night is the area around the main square and the strip (Ayias Mavris) The bars in these areas and on the side roads are usually packed by 11pm with loud music and electric atmosphere.
